Today my 8th graders finally graduated! It has been a long, long journey to get here. I taught these kids for two years and I'm so excited for them and anxious to see where they go from here. I'll miss them next year.

A good friend of mine is quite proud of her "mini-foot" as she calls it. She has been telling me about it for months, so today she finally showed it to me. I warned her I would post it up on my blog and she was excited about that. Love it. Own it!

I presented a 90 minute session to all of the CMAs on facilitating one of their upcoming sessions for the new teachers. It was a huge room and this itty bitty computer was all I needed to get the presentation in order. Of course, my luck, the clicker didn't work to flip through the Powerpoint slides, so even though I love to pace around the room, I was constantly running up to the laptop to hit the next arrow.

I packed up my stuff and moved to St. John's University in Queens today for the next 7 weeks. I'm here working with the staff of the TFA Institute. This summer I get to stay in the townhouses on campus, which are way nicer than the dorms. Air-conditioning that actually works, a full kitchen and free unlimited laundry in the townhouse. Emily was nice enough to give me her extra-long twin sheets which she didn't need because she had a full-size bed. Although they are brightly covered and kinda weird, they fit the mattress perfectly! Thanks Em.

Today was 8th grade graduation rehearsal at Progress High School and on the way there, me, Velez, Campbell and Barnes stopped by a McDonald's for breakfast. Barnes bought everyone food and I gorged on a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. This quickly turned into a photo-op; I'm really going to miss the people I work with. They are HILARIOUS. And crazy.

I spent the day at the TFA National Office working on Institute stuff and had quite the trek across midtown Manhattan to get there. Tucked away somewhere on 36th between 7th and 8th Avenue I walked right by this pretty cool window display. The dress is alright, but I loved the gorgeous black model wearing the dress in the background. The contrast with the white mannequin in the foreground renders me inexplicably sad.

8th grade class trip to Six Flags! Here me and Velez are waiting in line for the Dark Knight roller coaster in the dark. It was perfect weather to head over to Jersey for the day to ride roller coasters and eat delicious amusement park food. Me, Velez and Campbell spent the day together. I love my coworkers!
